especially for you youngsters

Mark Stein is totally casting some soulful wizard spells here, and I'm all for it. I mean, how else could he be jamming so hard on that organ
with at least one arm waving around the whole time?

Axl Rose is from Indiana?

Things I missed about LA:
  • my guapisimo
  • abuelita's hot chocolate
  • people that like obama
  • werk frennz
  • chawlie and bwanka
  • spicy food
  • stores that don't start with TJ or Tuesday
  • pretty much everything else
Things I miss about Lafayette:

Slave 4 U

I've been hoarding silver rings like crazy lately. Lucky for me, I've almost run out of free fingers to put them on, so I don't have to feel so bad about not being able to afford this perfect slave ring by Made Her Think on Bona Drag that I want so so badly. Given the chance though, I feel like I would totally trade out Mister Kitten for this guy.

This ring is serious. I mean, it's got DIAMONDS on it. Plus, slave rings are just sexy -- they're exotic and industrial with a little S&M thrown in for good measure. And if you wanna get really serious, Bliss Lau makes this super O inducing "Riot" bracelet that I would totally don leather and a whip for.

Hooter

Gold owl lamp from Goodwill: $15.
Definitely the best purchase of the trip.

Ba-ba-boom

Um, so Pixie Market on 3rd closed down. WTF? The only reason I'm not giving this economy the biggest purple nurple ever is because I just found this line on Etsy called Babooshka to fill that oversized, asymmetrical, fringe laden hole in my life P.M. left behind with harem pants, high waisted paper bag minis, and batwing sweaters. Here are some of the pieces that I have to have, like, right now:

Score.

Just bought this awesome painting by favie artist evs Kime Buzzelli on her Etsy for only $65. Am I dreaming? Maybe, but if you hurry you might be able to snag one of the three recently added sketchbook paintings left before I wake up and they're all gone.

Woodland Rock

In the great outdoors, thinking about my new apartment and bringing the outdoors in.

I wish I was in LA right now this much.

Bella Donna

How come I never realized what a babe Stevie Nicks was?

DGAF

Gabi just informed me that DGAF isn't universal, and that I can't just use it with everyone because they won't know what I'm talking about. Whatever, these dudes know what I'm sayin.

Going to Indiana for the weekend.

If you feel bad, you've obviously never been here:

I feel like I've looked at the Petfinder page for almost every dog within road trip distance to LA, and yet I still haven't seen another one that looks like this guy. What kind of dog is this anyway? Maybe it's not even a dog at all, but some weird puppy ewok hybrid. Find me one and I promise to buy it all the American Apparel sweaters it wants.

Thank you for shopping at the Wasteland

"The employee-bots don't say much, but don't be offended.  They're just too cool to talk to you."

"The salespeople act like they are above you, in their crumpled flannel shirts, leggings and designer knee boots."

"full of silly workers who think they know everything but really they wear their clothes backwards and are wet behind the ears...."

"Don't bother asking any employee for help because they're all too busy drowning in their huge ego's."

"the employees were as useful as a brick."

Love those Yelpers.

Bend It

Last night, Gabi & I went to see Willow's friends, The Morning Benders, open for The Walkmen at the El Rey. Word is that these dudes are blowing up, and I can see why. I mean, how much does their lead singer look like Jimmy from H.R. Pufnstuf?
